Tapping fees are charged to new connections to the Valley Forge Sewer Authority (VFSA) sewer system or to an existing connection that needs to increase the amount of sewage discharged into the system.
These fees are used to secure a portion of sewage capacity needed in the collection, conveyance, and treatment facilities of the Authority. The fees referenced below are determined through methods defined in PA Act 57 of 2003.
Tapping fees are based on an Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) as defined in accordance with the unit rate schedule set forth in the Code of Rules and Regulations by the Valley Forge Sewer Authority. Please note that VFSA uses 275 gpd/EDU for planning purposes.
Fees Required for Individual Sewer Connection Permit Applications:
- Connection Fee: $820
- Tapping Fee: $9,989.46/EDU
- Escrow: $2,000
Special Purpose Tapping Fees (paid in addition to the rates above):
- Charlestown Southside Service Area: $2,364/EDU
- Meadow Lane Service Area: $2,860/EDU
