Attention Valley Forge Sewer Authority Customers:
We want to inform you about an important update about sewer rates in our service area. Effective April 1, 2026, the new quarterly sewer rental rate will increase from $99.00 to $105.00. Despite this increase, VFSA's rates are still among the lowest in the region, and state.
The Sewer Authority maintains approximately 140 miles of sewer lines, 11 pumping stations, and an 11.75 million gallon per day treatment plant. A significant portion of this infrastructure is 50+ years old and in need of or currently undergoing replacement.
The sewer fund continues to face capital and operating needs, including increased maintenance for existing infrastructure and the need for equipment replacements and improvements at the treatment plant. Additionally, costs for chemicals, electricity, fuel, and repair projects have had significant increases over the years.
This rate increase is essential to ensure the continued provision of reliable sewer services to our rate payers. The Authority is committed to supporting and improving our critical infrastructure to continue our obligation of providing affordable and reliable service for the communities that we serve.
Sewer use billing occurs on the first day of each calendar quarter and is due at the end of that respective month. Each quarter is paid in advance; for example, January billing covers January, February, and March. The Authority uses a flat-rate billing system. The system is based on the average amount of wastewater discharged by a typical single-family residence. The single-family residence is equal to one (1) EDU (Equivalent Dwelling Unit). The current quarterly charge per EDU will increase to $105.00 effective April 1 ,2026. Bills can be paid online at www.vfsa.com.
